Outsource

A proven process in the business world is the idea of outsourcing. We all know what it is, but we don't really define it formally so lets do it now -

Outsource - The process of shifting the burden of production, acquisition, and resource development to a trusted partner to further enrich your enterprise.

Tapping outside resources is an excellent way to expand your strengths, develop new perspectives and most importantly - gather knowledge.

"I know..." right? Well lets establish a few fundamental things that need to be addressed with any man who desires to be something greater than your average schmuck.

Style - What do people feel when they first see you? How do you see yourself?

Social Ability- Can you captivate people and draw them into your reality?

Values - What is important to you? What is important in other people?

Vitality-
Is your mind focused? Present? Congruent? Is your body where you'd like it to be?

Development-
How much time do you spend on yourself? On your future?

Mull these over, how do they relate to your identity? What IS your identity?

Until later - Ryoku.

Society VS YOU

Next time you're watching TV (which you should cut down as much as you can) really pay attention to the commercials. More importantly pay attention to the portrayal of men in contrast to women.

Men are always wrong. Women are always right.

Nearly every single commercial is directed at women. Yes, women have a higher propensity to shop and consume, but mainly because of their constant presence in the retail environment. Without getting into the major social motivations of consumerism and self-worth, women are constantly striving to maintain their value (beauty) for as long as possible, thus they're spending money.

The 08 Summer Games - did you watch them? My bet is that the majority of events you saw were woman's events, followed by woman's athletic commercials.

The point I'm trying to make here is that - being a man has become a societal faux pas.

Masculinity, dominance, power, wisdom have all be cast aside in favor of: Femininity, submission, incompetence, and ignorance.

Think about this. Why do we tolerate so much bullshit in our society?

Societies of past were built, protected and survived on the honor of strong men.

So what is strength? And why do so many men lack it?

Ryoku is Japanese for strength. Are you strong?

I'm a big anime guy. I find that they are able to convey significant ideas without the burden of people. This clip is from Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen, an OVA about a master swordsman. The reason I chose this clip is because it identifies weakness, confronts it and forces a shift in a boy's world - the pursuit of strength. It's incredibly violent and painful, but is really an artful work demonstrating what weakness will bring.

I highly suggest watching all of it. At least from 1:50 - 6:30ish.

All the best - Ryoku

Statement of intent

This blog's primary function is to invoke thought. Any actions, lewd or righteous are the responsibility of those who carry them out. WHAT THAT MEANS - If you're a dumb ass, and do dumb things, that's YOUR problem.

Now that the quasi-legal notice is out of the way - Welcome!

My goal with this blog is to provide a medium to discuss ideas and issues that are not so readily addressed by the modern media, to encourage discussion and offer support to those who seek it and be a resource for the stuff you can't find in The Economist or The WSJ.

This blog is aimed at college educated/in progress men who are looking to get into "business." But if that's not you, I still encourage you to offer your thoughts.

More information will follow in coming posts. I leave you with wise words from Grand Master Lee -
